GERGERLIOĞLU'S CRITICISM OF TÜİK

Interesting moments occurred during the budget discussions of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in the TBMM. The TÜİK criticism made by DEM Party Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, addressing the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, drew attention.

"IT MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK SMALL AND YOUNG"

Gergerlioğlu said, "You have an institution, TÜİK. It makes everything look very small and young. For example, I am 60 years old. If we ask TÜİK, I am 20. Mehmet Şimşek is 15 years old. Honestly, that’s how your institution is." Gergerlioğlu's joke caused laughter in the general assembly.
