The German Embassy in Ankara stated that the temporary border controls implemented in Germany as of today aim to ensure safe, orderly, and legal entry, and that the visa process for Turkey will continue to operate normally and will not be affected. GERMANY IS INCREASING BORDER CONTROLSThe Embassy made a written statement on X social media account regarding the temporary border controls that will be implemented in Germany as of today. The statement emphasized that temporary border controls will be carried out in Germany for security and migration policy reasons, and it was stated that these controls will prevent the entry of individuals who do not have permission to enter the country. "THE VISA PROCESS FOR TURKEY WILL CONTINUE NORMALLY"The statement mentioned that this measure is in line with European Union law and has been announced to the Schengen partners in advance, and it emphasized that ensuring safe, orderly, and legal entry to Germany is the main objective of this decision. The statement also indicated that traveling between borders will still be possible and efforts will be made to avoid waiting times, and it used the phrase "the visa process for Turkey will continue normally and will not be affected." Germany had previously announced that it expanded the controls it initiated at the borders of Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and Poland to include France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark. The German Ministry of Interior, which cited the fight against irregular migration as the reason, stated that efforts will be made to minimize the impact of border controls on the daily lives, trade, and travel of those who commute between Germany and these countries.
