FEARED DEATH TOLL EXCEEDS 100
According to eyewitnesses and local media outlets, the collapse occurred around 3:00 PM local time on Tuesday.
While authorities have not yet made an official statement regarding the death toll, media organizations broadcasting in Cameroon and the Central African Republic have reported fears that the death toll may exceed 100.
RESCUE EFFORTS CONTINUE
Search and rescue operations are ongoing to reach the miners trapped in the mine.
