A state of mobilization has been declared in the city for Erzurumspor FK, which achieved a great success by rising to the Süper Lig.
STADIUM IN RENOVATION PROCESS
The Kazım Karabekir Stadium, which will host the blue-white team's Süper Lig matches in the 2026-2027 season, has entered a comprehensive renovation process to be brought to the highest standards. The meticulously conducted works by the Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports are not limited to the field; every part of the stadium, from exterior design to landscaping, from expanded parking areas to turnstiles and access points, is being completely renovated.
PRESS TRIBUNE MOVED TO MARATHON SECTION
To meet Süper Lig standards, intensive work is being carried out, especially on the goal behinds, protocol, and press tribunes. Erzurum Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Levent Çakmur, who inspected the works, met with the Turkey Sports Writers Association (TSYD) Erzurum Representative İrfan Tarakçıoğlu at the stadium to exchange ideas.
In line with the plans, the press tribune, previously located behind the goal, is being moved back to its original location in the marathon section to allow journalists to have a much better view of the field. A modern press viewing area, a new meeting room, and working and resting sections are being created for media members to work in a more comfortable environment. Additionally, preparations for photojournalists who will work on the field and interior designs continue without slowing down.
STADIUM TO REACH FULL CAPACITY
Due to security measures taken after the earthquake disaster, only the goal behind tribunes have been open for spectators at Kazım Karabekir Stadium for a long time, forcing Erzurumspor fans to support their team in limited areas. Giving the good news to the blue-white fans, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Levent Çakmur announced that after the intensive work, the stadium will open its doors to fans completely and at full capacity with all its tribunes in the 2026-2027 season, with the words: "Erzurum stadium will open its doors to fans completely and at full capacity with all its tribunes in the 2026-2027 season."
