The latest meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision Russia–Islamic World was held on sidelines of the KazanForum with the participation of senior officials and religious leaders.
Among the participants were Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, Tatarstan's Rais (Head) Rustam Minnikhanov and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan.
The event was titled Russia-Islamic World: Fair Multipolar World Order and Secure Development.
The 14th International Economic Forum Russia–Islamic World: Kazan Forum is underway in Tatarstan's capital of Kazan. Anadolu is its global communications partner.
At the beginning of the meeting a message from the Russian President Vladimir Putin was read out in Russian.
Welcoming the participants and guests of the forum, Putin said: "Tatarstan is once again clearly demonstrating its abundant potential and strong commitment to progress in various areas.
"The region's achievements in the economy, social sphere, science and culture are truly impressive and serve as tangible proof of the significant contribution that Russian Muslims, and people from all ethnic groups living in the Republic," he said.
"Russia values its traditionally friendly ties with Muslim countries," he added.
The Russian leader said he believes that the work of the forum will be "meaningful and constructive as always and will be held in a spirit of openness and trust."
The forum will "serve to further promote the friendship and creative partnership between our countries and peoples," he added. -
