Khalil al-Hayya, one of the leaders of Hamas's political wing, announced that the organization is ready to hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority. In a statement from Hamas, it was emphasized that the only condition for this is the end of the Israeli army's occupation.
Hamas announced that it will not lay down its arms until the Israeli occupation ends. Khalil al-Hayya, one of the leaders of Hamas's political wing, stated, "Our weapons are linked to the existence of occupation and aggression. If the occupation ends, these weapons will come under the authority of the state."
