Khalil al-Hayya, one of the leaders of Hamas's political wing, announced that the organization is ready to hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority. In a statement from Hamas, it was emphasized that the only condition for this is the end of the Israeli army's occupation.

Hamas announced that it will not lay down its arms until the Israeli occupation ends. Khalil al-Hayya, one of the leaders of Hamas's political wing, stated, "Our weapons are linked to the existence of occupation and aggression. If the occupation ends, these weapons will come under the authority of the state."

"WE WELCOME THE DEPLOYMENT OF UN FORCES TO GAZA"

Al-Hayya, who stated that they want a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, also expressed their support for the deployment of UN forces to Gaza for the monitoring of the ceasefire and the proper handover of weapons.

"WE WILL NOT LAY DOWN OUR ARMS AS LONG AS THE OCCUPATION CONTINUES"

The second phase of the Gaza plan prepared by the US focused on the disarmament of Hamas. However, Hamas refuses to lay down its arms as long as the occupation continues.

CEASEFIRE AND PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT IN GAZA

US President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan in Gaza during ongoing negotiations in Egypt. The agreement signed in Egypt, where the negotiations took place, came into effect on October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.

Despite the ceasefire reached in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continues to carry out attacks against Palestinians with various claims. Health officials in Gaza reported that more than 360 Palestinians have lost their lives in ongoing Israeli attacks since the ceasefire came into effect. While the end date of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement remains uncertain, it is expected that decisions will be made regarding the governance of Gaza in subsequent phases.
