26-year-old Melih Çopur passed away at his home in Aksaray, where he came on leave one week before his military service. The young man, who was reported to have suffered from pneumonia, was found dead in his bed by his mother.

One week before his military service, a young man who came to his hometown Aksaray on leave and was preparing to report to his unit in Hatay was found dead in his bed.

The incident occurred in the Kardelen Apartment located on 842 Street in the Taşpazar neighborhood. Melih Çopur (26), who had come to his hometown Aksaray on leave from his basic training in Sivas one week ago, was hospitalized two days ago after falling ill. While Melih Çopur was resting at home after being diagnosed with pneumonia in the hospital, his mother, Asuman Çopur, entered his room to check on him around 7:30 AM today.

HE TRIED TO WAKE HIS SON BUT...

After calling out to her son several times without receiving a response, the mother entered the room. When the mother tried to wake her son and he did not respond, she immediately informed the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the address. The health teams, who arrived at the scene shortly, determined during their initial intervention that Melih Çopur had passed away.

Subsequently, while the teams from the Aksaray Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau conducted an investigation at the scene, an investigation was initiated under the coordination of the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After the work done by the Crime Scene Investigation teams, the public prosecutor also conducted examinations, and Melih Çopur's body was taken to the morgue of Aksaray Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
