On October 29, Indonesian university student Rahmawati Kualika Foebiannitra forgot her backpack, containing her passport, some foreign currency and personal belongings, where she was sitting when she got off the train car at Acemler Metro Station to transfer. At night, the train car was pulled to the BursaRay Operations and Maintenance Directorate in Odunluk Neighborhood for cleaning. Cleaning worker İsmail Ertürk found the bag Rahmawati had forgotten and informed his supervisor. A report was drawn up and the bag was handed over to the lost property office. After the incident, officials from the BURULAŞ Personalization Unit, who reviewed the camera recordings, identified the bag's owner and travel route and contacted her.

SHE WAS REUNITED WITH HER PASSPORT ONE DAY BEFORE HER FLIGHT

The owner of the bag, Indonesian national student Rahmawati Kualika Foebiannitra, was invited to the lost property office in Osmangazi district. After her identity was determined and it was confirmed that the items inside belonged to her, the bag was handed over to its owner. It was stated that Rahmawati, who was reunited with her passport, money and belongings, would travel to Indonesia two days later and was able to reach her passport one day before her flight.

Meanwhile, the excitement Rahmawati experienced while receiving her bag, her prostrating herself out of joy, and the moments when officials offered her water and tried to calm her down were captured by security cameras.

CLEANING WORKER: WE ARE DOING OUR HUMANITARIAN DUTY

Cleaning worker İsmail Ertürk, who found the bag, said, "At around 11:00-12:00 at night, while I was cleaning the metro train car, I noticed a green bag. First I called our supervisor. Together with our supervisor, we handed it over to the security officer. Our supervisor drew up the report, and then the bag was delivered to the lost property office. We always do our humanitarian duty. I learned that the item I found was the bag of an Indonesian student. It apparently contained her money and passport. I am happy that she will not have problems on her journey. I became even happier than her because I was instrumental in a good deed."

SHE CRIED WITH JOY AND PROSTRATED HERSELF

Lost property office officer Kayhan Özdemir said, "Lost items found on the metros and at the stations are handed over to us with a report. We check and verify the items that come with a report one by one. Then we deliver the lost items to their owners. If there is the person's identity card, student card or a large amount of money in the wallet, we process it directly at our central building. We reach the person's personal information, inform them by phone and deliver their belongings. We noticed that there was a passport and some money in the student's bag. After a report was drawn up and official procedures were completed, we reached her and invited her to our office. When it was understood that she was the owner of the bag, we handed over her belongings. She also cried with joy and prostrated herself. We calmed her down and offered her water and cologne. She left our office happily. This made us very happy as well," he said.
