Ebru Küçüktaşdemir (45), a Science Teacher with two children from a previous marriage, encountered her estranged husband Abdullah Küçüktaşdemir at the entrance of the apartment where she had gone to give private lessons to a female student. After talking for a while, a dispute broke out between them. As the argument escalated, Abdullah Küçüktaşdemir stabbed his wife Ebru Küçüktaşdemir 18 times in various parts of her body.
