In the Fenerbahçe-Beşiktaş derby, a heartbreaking detail emerged regarding Gerçek Yaşar, a fan of the yellow-navy team who suffered a heart attack in the stands and lost his life. It was reported that Yaşar had gone to the stadium to watch a match live with his son for the first time.

According to DHA's report, Gerçek Yaşar, who served as a Jandarma Second Lieutenant in Bingöl and became a veteran after being injured in a clash with terrorists in 2003, retired after working at the Mut Forestry Operations Directorate in Mersin.

Yaşar, a Fenerbahçe fan, took his place at Chobani Stadium yesterday in Istanbul, where he had gone for a visit, to watch a live match for the first time with his son Gazi Yaşar (16). Gerçek Yaşar, who fell ill in the stands during the second half of the match against Beşiktaş, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Yaşar, who was found to have had a heart attack, could not be saved despite all interventions.

Following the match, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş clubs published condolence messages for Gerçek Yaşar. It was reported that the funeral of Gerçek Yaşar, whose body was taken to his hometown of Mut district in Mersin, will be held tomorrow at noon.
