HE REGAINED HIS HEALTH

About a month ago, Musa applied to Gaziantep City Hospital, where he was examined in the Thoracic Surgery Clinic and subsequently hospitalized. After being kept under observation for a while, Musa regained his health with a surgical operation performed 5 days ago.

"IT WAS A CONDITION THAT MADE LIFE A PRISON"

Thoracic Surgery Specialist Operative Dr. Onur Bayrakçı, who performed the surgery, told AA correspondent that they had never encountered such a situation before. He stated that the cause of hiccups is usually related to the phrenic nerve, which controls the diaphragm muscle (the main muscle of the respiratory system located just below the lungs and heart).

Bayrakçı noted: "We identified which side the problem was on and performed a closed surgery on the right side. We expanded the nerve endings of the diaphragm muscle and controlled its activation. This was a treatment method we had never done before. Our patient benefited completely; his eating, sleeping, everything returned to normal. He had respiratory difficulties, which also improved. It was a condition that made his life a prison; there have been others who came with hiccup complaints, but we treated them with medication. This is the first time we encountered a patient who did not respond for such a long time. We are experiencing the joy of achieving results."

"A SITUATION WE ENCOUNTERED FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Gaziantep City Hospital Chief Physician Ilgın Türkçüoğlu stated that Musa faced difficulties in every aspect of life due to his illness, saying, "This is actually a situation we encountered for the first time; our physician also said it was the first time he performed this surgery. We can see very different cases in our hospital."
