Virginia McCullough, who lives in England, poisoned her father with prescription drugs in 2019 and shortly after fatally stabbed her mother. The woman, who "cold-bloodedly" killed her parents and hid them in makeshift graves for four years, told police officers when she was arrested at her home, "Cheer up, you caught the bad guy." CONTINUED TO USE THEIR SALARIES AND CREDIT CARDS36-year-old Virginia McCullough poisoned her 70-year-old father, John McCullough, with prescription drugs in 2019 and killed her 71-year-old mother, Lois McCullough, by stabbing her. She accumulated a large amount of debt on credit cards in her parents' names and continued to spend their retirement pensions until she was caught. In bodycam footage released by the police, McCullough, who was handcuffed and disturbingly calm, told the officers: "I knew this would end eventually." She stated that she added something to her father's drink, placed his body under the bed downstairs, and put her mother's body in the closet upstairs. "CONFESSED TO THE MURDERS"Arrested on suspicion of double murder, McCullough told the police, "Cheer up, at least you caught the bad guy." She added, "I know I don't look 100% bad." In the police station, she indicated the location of a kitchen knife, which she described as the "murder weapon," and a hammer that she said would "still have blood on it." After confessing to the murders, she was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 36 years by Chelmsford Crown Court.
