In the Çeşme district of İzmir, a person named S.Ç. killed 29-year-old Soner Boztepe, who had been hired in his place, by approaching him from behind and striking him on the head with an axe. It was learned that S.Ç. continued to stay with his family in the apartment assigned to them in the complex, and that a few days before the incident, there had been an argument between the two, during which S.Ç. reportedly said, "You took my bread away." The suspect was arrested by the court to which he was brought.

A chilling incident occurred yesterday around 02:00 at the Bostancı Site beach located in the Ovacık neighborhood of Çeşme district in İzmir. S.Ş. approached Soner Boztepe (29), the site worker hired in his place, from behind and struck him on the head with an axe before fleeing the scene.

HE KILLED THE WORKER HIRED IN HIS PLACE WITH AN AXE

Upon notification, health teams were dispatched to the address. It was determined that Boztepe had died at the scene where the teams provided initial intervention. Boztepe's lifeless body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy procedures. After the procedures there, Boztepe's funeral was held at Ovacık Cemetery.

SUSPECT ARRESTED

After the incident, gendarmerie teams launched an investigation and examined the security cameras in the area, capturing and detaining S.Ş. After processing at the gendarmerie, S.Ş. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court.

STARTED WORKING AT THE SITE FOR EXTRA INCOME

Additionally, it was learned that Boztepe worked at the Çeşme Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate and had started working at the site a few days ago in place of S.Ş. for extra income in the evenings.

It was noted that S.Ş. continued to stay in the apartment given to them at the site with his family, and a few days before the incident, S.Ş. had said, "You took my bread," leading to a dispute between the two.
