The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on Tugrul Street in the Güney neighborhood of Körfez district. A man named Burak E., while sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car on the street, repeatedly stabbed a man named Ercan K., whom he claimed was having an affair with his wife.

Ercan K., who was left bleeding from the stab wounds, fled in his car but crashed into a parked light commercial vehicle after about 500 meters. Emergency health and police teams were dispatched to the area following reports from witnesses. Ercan K., who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention by the health team at the scene.
