In Bursa, during a traffic inspection, a driver who was found to be unlicensed and under the influence of alcohol threatened the police by saying, "Call the prosecutor," with his friend beside him.
THREATS AND INSULTS WERE THROWN
At around 04:30 at night, in an incident that occurred on Mudanya Boulevard in the Osmangazi district, traffic police stopped a car that was moving in front of their patrol vehicle on suspicion. The driver, identified as B.Ç., tested positive for 0.69 promille of alcohol in a breathalyzer test. When the police attempted to impound the vehicle, the driver's friend, Mustafa E., who was under the influence, approached the police and hurled threats and insults.
HE SAID "CALL THE PROSECUTOR" AND WAS DETAINED
Mustafa E. was detained after he continued to resist by telling the police, who warned him to watch his words, "Impound the car. It’s clear where this is going. Call the prosecutor." During a search of Mustafa E., a bread knife hidden in his sock was found.
A FINE WAS IMPOSED
The driver B.Ç. was fined a total of 38,931 lira for 'Driving under the influence of alcohol' and 'Driving a vehicle while the driver's license was temporarily or provisionally revoked,' while his wife, the vehicle owner, was fined for 'Allowing someone to drive a vehicle while their driver's license was temporarily or provisionally revoked.' The vehicle was also impounded.
It was learned that Mustafa E., against whom the traffic police filed a complaint, is still undergoing processing at the police station.
