At around 10:30 PM yesterday, police teams conducting traffic checks on Cumhuriyet Street in Umurbey Neighborhood, Ödemiş, İzmir, signaled the driver of the car with license plate 35 AJ 5702 to 'stop'. The driver, ignoring the warning, attempted to flee. At that moment, a police officer tried to stop the car by stepping in front of it. However, the driver drove the vehicle towards the police officer. As a result, the police officer jumped onto the hood of the car. POLICE OFFICER INJURED ON HAND RECEIVED TREATMENT ON FOOTThe driver of the car, holding onto the hood with one hand, dragged the police officer, who was trying to stop the vehicle by hitting the window with his other hand, for about 300 meters on the hood. The car was stopped by backup teams about 4 streets away. Those moments were captured by a building's security camera. The footage also showed another police officer running to try to stop the car. The injured police officer received treatment while standing. The driver was taken into custody.
