Court clerk Mehmet Oğuz Ademoğlu, who exposed a 13.5 billion TL corruption case involving luxury vehicles seized for debt in the Lice district of Diyarbakır, was sentenced to 111 years and 3 months in prison. After the file was overturned twice, Ademoğlu was released following 5 years and said, 'I expect support from the public.'

Mehmet Oğuz Ademoğlu, who served as a court clerk in the Lice district of Diyarbakır, claimed that he became a defendant in a corruption case involving luxury vehicles seized for debt, which emerged in 2021. Stating that he was acting as a deputy during the period when the enforcement director and senior clerk were on leave, Ademoğlu said he met Kemal T., who was introduced by his supervisor as the "enforcement director in Diyarbakır," during this process.

Expressing his inexperience in enforcement procedures, Ademoğlu stated that Kemal T., from whom he sought help for some transactions, was later revealed to have ties to a criminal organization.

"I WAS DRAWN INTO A CRIMINAL GANG"

Describing his experience, Ademoğlu said, "Since I had no training in enforcement and didn't understand it, I needed to ask someone knowledgeable. But later we realized that the person helping was a fraudster, a member of a criminal gang."

According to the allegations, in the corruption scheme, the liens on luxury vehicles placed by banks as collateral for receivables were lifted, and the vehicles were put up for resale.

"I WAS THE ONE WHO INITIATED THE INVESTIGATION"

According to Ömer Çelik's report on İlke TV, Ademoğlu said he started to suspect the transactions made by Kemal T. using his UYAP password, and stated that he first reported the situation to the head of the secretariat and then to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

"I was the one who initiated the investigation. I became the one who exposed this gang," said Ademoğlu, adding that despite this, he was arrested shortly after.

THE PUBLIC SUFFERED A LOSS OF 13.5 BILLION LIRA

In the expert examination conducted in the case, it was determined that the sale of 47 out of 63 vehicles whose liens were lifted caused the public a loss of approximately 13.5 billion lira. A lawsuit was filed against 17 defendants, including Ademoğlu, on charges of "forgery of official documents" and "fraud."

ADEMOĞLU WAS SENTENCED TO 111 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS IN PRISON

As a result of the trial, Ademoğlu, along with some other defendants, was sentenced to 111 years and 3 months in prison. He was released after 5 years, following the appellate court's reversal of the case twice.

"I CAN ONLY BE CHARGED WITH NEGLECT OF DUTY"

Ademoğlu, who does not accept the charges against him, argued that he could only be accused of "neglect of duty."

"If I am a fraudster, I demand a MASAK report. Let it be investigated whether I or my family have obtained any financial benefit. I request this voluntarily," said Ademoğlu, calling for a detailed examination of the allegations against him.

HE WENT ON A 49-DAY HUNGER STRIKE

Ademoğlu, who said he went on a 49-day hunger strike in prison, stated that he could not make his voice heard.

Stating that his only request is an effective investigation and a fair trial, Ademoğlu said, "I don't want to lose my faith in justice. I expect support from the public."
