The new Mayor of Chilpancingo, the capital of Guerrero state in Mexico, Alejandro Arcos, was attacked and killed just one week after taking office. According to reports in the local press, the young mayor was beheaded.

The Mexico State Prosecutor's Office made a statement regarding Arcos, who took office about a week ago after taking an oath.

In the statement, it was noted that Arcos died as a result of an attack, but no details about the incident were shared. Alejandro Moreno, the leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), expressed his sorrow regarding the murder of Arcos in a post on the X social media platform.
