In an operation carried out by gendarmerie teams in the Kuşadası district of Aydın, Süleyman Kaya (45), who has a life sentence for crimes related to the terrorist organization PKK/KCK and has been on the run for 15 years, was captured. It was revealed that Kaya used the identity information of his cousin, known as "Furniture Maker Mehmet."
As a result of intelligence work carried out by the Kuşadası District Gendarmerie Command and the 9th JASAT Team, it was determined that S.K. was hiding in the industrial area of Davutlar Mahallesi using someone else's identity information.
In the investigations conducted, it was found that there was an ongoing search for the suspect based on the decision of the Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court's Enforcement Office dated 04.10.2011 and numbered 2011/1-2243 for "Attempting to Separate a Part of the Territory Under the Sovereignty of the State from State Administration (PKK/KCK)", as well as the decisions of the İskenderun 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance dated 08.11.2024 and numbered 2024/621, and the İskenderun 1st Criminal Court of Peace dated 02.02.2024 and numbered 2024/529 for "Violation of the Military Penal Code".
HE INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS "FURNITURE MAKER MEHMET"
It was revealed that the local citizens had known the suspect as "Furniture Maker Mehmet" for about 8 years, and Kaya gained trust in the area by introducing himself with the identity information of his cousin M.G. It was also determined that he had an unofficial relationship with a woman named Y.A. and that he had two children from this relationship.
LIFE IMPRISONMENT SENTENCE
Kaya, who was captured in an operation carried out by the JASAT teams, was handed over to Söke Prison for the execution of his finalized life imprisonment sentence after his processing.
