Semra Engin, who was injured while swimming in the sea in the district of Darıca in Kocaeli, narrowly escaped death.

Semra Engin (54), who lives in Istanbul, went to Bayramoğlu Public Beach with her husband on Monday, July 15th. Engin, who was swimming near the buoys around 18:30, was hit by a jet ski whose driver's name could not be learned. Engin, who was injured in the head and covered in blood, managed to swim to the shore on her own, and received 6 stitches at the hospital where she was taken. After her treatment at the hospital, Semra Engin went to the police station and filed a complaint against the individuals who hit her and fled.

"WE WARNED THEM REPEATEDLY"

Telling her story, Semra Engin said, "On July 15th, my husband and I went to the public beach. There were many jet skis on the beach that day, they were passing by us, getting close to the buoys. We warned them repeatedly. In fact, some of the jet skis were playing loud music."

"I WAS COVERED IN BLOOD"

Semra Engin stated that she and her husband entered the sea around 18:30 and moved close to the buoys. She said, "Due to my discomfort, I had to swim on my back. I looked to my left and right, and I swam. After taking 5-6 strokes, when I looked to my left and right again, there was no jet ski. Encouraged by that, I went a little further and encountered a jet ski accident. When I went into the water, my eyes were open, and I was covered in blood. I felt pain. I put my left hand on my head and supported myself with my right hand on my back to swim on my back and get out of the water."

"HE CURSED AND LEFT ME"

Engin, who said that she saw the jet ski that hit her when she got out of the water, said, "There were 2 people. One was between 19-22, the other was between 27-32 years old. The gentleman, who had broad shoulders and a round face, got off the jet ski. The young man next to him also got off, but he couldn't look at me when he saw me covered in blood. It was a black, large jet ski. It had white color underneath. Due to the shock of the incident, I couldn't read what was written on the jet ski completely, but I looked at the gentleman very carefully, but I couldn't ask him 'What is your name?' I started shouting, 'Why did you hit me? You are passing by the buoys.' He raised his left hand and said, 'No matter who you complain to.' He cursed and got on the jet ski and left me there."

"I HAVE FALLING IN MY LEFT EYE"

Engin, stating that the person has still not been found, said, "I want this person to be found. I was able to get out of the water that day. I was hurt. I received 6 stitches. I have falling in my left eye. The doctor told me that if I don't recover, I will need surgery. I know that my stitches are not perfect, my hair was cut. I was hurt, I don't want others to get hurt."
