Eight-year-old Fatima Beyyuk, who lost her mother, father and six siblings in an Israeli attack in Gaza three years ago, was shot this time while playing with her friends. The little girl, who was pulled alive from the rubble where her family died two days later, was seriously wounded by fire from a sniper in Deir al-Balah. Fatima, who was fighting for her life in hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. Her uncle said his niece was directly targeted.

Eight-year-old Fatima Beyyuk, three years after the attack in which she was the sole survivor of her family, has died in Gaza. The death of the little girl, who was shot while playing with her friends, once again plunged her relatives into mourning.

SHE HAD REMAINED UNDER THE RUBBLE FOR TWO DAYS AND WAS RESCUED BY A MIRACLE

The attacks launched by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip in October 2023 upended the lives of thousands of families. In one of those attacks, Palestinian Fatima Beyyuk's mother, father and six siblings were killed. Fatima, who was still a small child, was pulled out alive after remaining under the rubble for two days. While the other members of her family lost their lives, Fatima became the only survivor. After her great loss, the little girl moved in with her grandmother and began to continue her life with the relatives remaining from her family. However, Fatima, who had been saved from death three years earlier, this time became the target of an attack while playing with her friends.

SHE WAS SHOT WHILE PLAYING WITH HER FRIENDS

The incident occurred in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. Eight-year-old Fatima was seriously wounded as a result of fire opened by a sniper affiliated with the Israeli army while she was playing with her friends. Intervention was carried out to save the life of the little girl, who was taken to the hospital. However, Fatima died the next morning. The death of the child, who survived the attack in which she lost her family three years earlier, caused her relatives a second great pain.

“FATIMA HAD GONE OUT TO PLAY WITH THE CHILDREN”

Fatima's maternal uncle, Mohammed Abu Amra, described what happened after his niece's death. Stating that Fatima was the only surviving member of her family in the attack three years earlier, Abu Amra used the following expressions: “Fatima was the only survivor of the Israeli attack three years ago. Her siblings and other members of her family lost their lives in the attack.” Also describing his niece's rescue from the rubble, Abu Amra continued his words as follows: “Fatima was pulled out of the rubble two days after the attack and was still alive. The lifeless bodies of the other members of her family were reached.” Her uncle argued that Fatima was not hit by coincidence in the latest attack and was directly targeted: “Fatima lost her life as a result of the attack in which she was targeted by a sniper. Everything that is said is nothing but lies; it was not a stray bullet or anything like that. Fatima had gone out to play with the children and was directly targeted by Israeli soldiers.”

SHE WAS SEEN OFF ON HER FINAL JOURNEY IN TEARS

After Fatima's death, her relatives went to the hospital morgue and received the little girl's body. The funeral prayer was performed in the hospital garden. Then Fatima's body was carried on shoulders to the house where she lived so that her family and friends could say goodbye one last time. The little girl's relatives and friends could not hold back their tears at the funeral.
