According to information reported by journalist İsmail Saymaz, Yılmaz was among the ISIS members captured in an operation conducted by MIT and the Police in Syria and was brought to Turkey.
DISAPPEARED IN 2017
Çekdar Yılmaz went missing in 2017 after leaving his home in Esenyurt with Fatma Develi, with whom he was living. When his family could not hear from him for a long time, they contacted the police. Investigations revealed that Develi was officially married to someone else.
WAS SOUGHT ON MÜGE ANLI
His mother, Emine Yılmaz, who had not heard from her son for about a year and a half, appeared on Müge Anlı's program in 2019 to ask for help. While various possibilities regarding Yılmaz's fate were evaluated on the show, no trace of him could be found for years.
BROUGHT TO TURKEY THROUGH MIT AND POLICE OPERATION
According to information reported by journalist İsmail Saymaz, Çekdar Yılmaz was among 10 ISIS members captured last month in an operation conducted by MIT and the Police in Syria.
It was alleged that Yılmaz crossed into Syria in 2017, received military training in the organization, carried out armed activities in Idlib, and later served in the "Faruk Office," known as ISIS's media wing. Yılmaz was reported to have been arrested and imprisoned after being brought to Turkey.
OTHER SUSPECTS ALSO BROUGHT TO TURKEY
It was reported that Ali Bora, who was sought with a red notice, and Ömer Deniz Dündar, Kadir Gözükara, and Hüseyin Peri, sought with orange notices, were also brought to Turkey as part of the operation.
The report also included the testimony of Hakkı Yüksek, who was said to have been in ISIS ranks in Syria for years. It was stated that Yüksek claimed he joined the organization with a promise of religious education, later wanted to leave, but could not escape from the organization.
