In Kelkit district of Gümüşhane, Ümit Yapıcıoğlu, who went insane and killed 2 people with a gun two days ago and injured 1 person, was found to have been imprisoned 20 years ago for stabbing his wife to death.

SHOT 3 RELATIVES WITH A GUN

The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Alacat village of Kelkit district. Ümit Yapıcıoğlu, who went insane in the village, shot his relatives Nurten Yapıcıoğlu (55), Ali Yapıcıoğlu (25), and Kadir Yapıcıoğlu (22) with a gun. Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.

Health teams determined that Nurten Yapıcıoğlu died at the scene. Ali Yapıcıoğlu and Kadir Yapıcıoğlu, who were hit by bullets, were taken to Kelkit State Hospital in critical condition. Despite all the interventions made at the hospital, Ali Yapıcıoğlu could not be saved and died, while Kadir Yapıcıoğlu was transferred to Gümüşhane State Hospital.

KILLED HIS WIFE 20 YEARS AGO

It was revealed that Ümit Yapıcıoğlu stabbed his wife Özlem Yapıcıoğlu (23) multiple times and killed her during an argument in May 2004 in Dumlupınar Neighborhood of Derince district in Kocaeli. After the trial, he was sent to prison and it was revealed that he was released years ago.

Meanwhile, Nurten Yapıcıoğlu and her son Ali Yapıcıoğlu, who were killed in the armed attack by Ümit Yapıcıoğlu, were laid to rest in tears in Alacat village of Kelkit yesterday.
