In Istanbul's Kağıthane district, it is claimed that Hakan Y. fell victim to a cleaning staff member who introduced himself as a dentist at the clinic he visited. The cleaning staff member, who extracted Hakan Y.'s upper four front teeth while claiming, "I am a doctor," was ordered by the court to pay 50,000 lira in moral compensation. HE ALSO WROTE A PRESCRIPTION In 2017, in Kağıthane, Istanbul, Hakan Y. allegedly visited a dental clinic due to toothache and was examined by Cemal Ş., who introduced himself as a lecturer at a university, gaining Hakan Y.'s trust due to his presence in the clinic. After the examination, Cemal Ş. performed anesthesia on Hakan Y. under the pretext of making a dental prosthesis and extracted his four upper front teeth, then wrote a prescription and sent Hakan Y. home without charging him a consultation fee or providing a receipt. Later, when Hakan Y. went to the clinic to complain that the prescription was not stamped, he was told by doctor İbrahim Levent Ç., "Whoever treated you should stamp it; Cemal is my cleaner, he comes in the evenings to clean," which led him to file a complaint. After the investigation regarding the matter was completed, a lawsuit was filed against İbrahim Levent Ç., the owner of the clinic, and Cemal Ş. Recently, a decision was made in the Istanbul Civil Court where the case was heard. The plaintiff Hakan Y. and the defendant Cemal Ş.'s lawyers were present at the hearing. HE CONTINUED TO EXTRACT TEETH, SAYING "DON'T INTERFERE WITH MY WORK" The plaintiff's lawyer stated in court, "When my client went to the dentist, the defendant introduced himself as a lecturer dentist and extracted my client's upper four front teeth. Although my client said he had an abscess in his teeth, he continued the extraction, saying 'don't interfere with my work.' The next day, when he returned to the dentist for the stamp, he encountered the real doctor, who said, 'Whoever extracted your teeth should stamp it,' and he realized that the person was not a doctor. If this incident had happened in America, it would have required millions of dollars in compensation. The case should be accepted," he said. “THE ALLEGATIONS ARE ABSTRACT AND UNPROVABLE” The defendant's lawyer took the floor in court, stating, "The plaintiff's allegations are abstract and unprovable. The case should be dismissed." The court decided that 50,000 lira in moral compensation would be collected from the defendant Cemal Ş. along with legal interest accruing from 2017 and given to the plaintiff Hakan Y.
