During the COVID-19 pandemic, some healthcare workers lost their lives or left their jobs. This situation increases the workload of the current healthcare workers and also creates new employment opportunities. The healthcare sector is making intense efforts to meet this demand. Healthcare workers are calling for the appointment of healthcare personnel through the hashtag #BudgetForHealthEmployment they opened on the social media platform X. They argue that in the face of the increasing workload in hospitals, health centers, and medical centers across Turkey, 100,000 healthcare workers need to be hired to alleviate the burden on the system. In their messages, they stated, "The employment of healthcare personnel should be increased to improve the quality of services in healthcare institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health." EYES ON NOVEMBER 19Sector employees have turned their attention to the Ministry of Health budget, which will be discussed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly on November 19. The eagerly awaited discussions are considered an opportunity to find a solution to the employment problem in healthcare. It is requested that a share be allocated for the employment of 100,000 new healthcare workers in the discussions that will address the Ministry's expenditure items for the 2025 fiscal year. A DEMAND FOR A FAIRER STAFFINGAnother demand from healthcare workers concerns graduates of Health Management programs, as well as those who have studied and graduated in the health field. Healthcare workers, who demand meritocracy and equal opportunities, are calling for a clear job description and a more equitable staffing request.
