In the chain-reaction accident caused by a truck crossing into the opposite lane on the Uşak-İzmir highway, the couple Mustafa-Tuğba Özlüer and their children, 1-year-old Selin and 6-year-old Nil, lost their lives. 34 people were also injured.
4 people died in a chain accident involving 7 vehicles, one of which was a passenger bus and one a truck, in Uşak.
The accident occurred at night on the Uşak-İzmir highway at the Ürünköy location. A truck crossed into the opposite lane for an undetermined reason and struck 6 vehicles, including a passenger bus.
Upon notification from other drivers, numerous fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Medical teams determined that 4 people, including two children, died at the scene. 34 injured individuals were transferred to nearby hospitals.
"OUR TWO CHILDREN DIED WITH THEIR MOTHER AND FATHER"
Uşak Governor Serdar Kartal went to Uşak Training and Research Hospital and received information about the health status of the injured from Provincial Health Director Tarık Acar and Chief Physician Mesut Saka.
Kartal visited some of the injured and conveyed his get-well wishes. Speaking to journalists after the visit, Governor Kartal said, "We lost 4 citizens. 34 citizens were injured; 20 were taken to Uşak Training and Research Hospital, and 14 to various private hospitals in our city. I wish God's mercy upon our deceased citizens and a speedy recovery to the injured. Among the deceased citizens, we have one child aged 1 and another aged 6. They died with their mother and father. May God have mercy."
It was learned that those who died in the accident were Mustafa Özlüer (37), his wife Tuğba Özlüer (35), and their children Nil Özlüer (6) and Selin Özlüer (1).
