While the echoes of this tragic incident continue, similar news came from Malatya. The incident occurred last night around 20:30 in Aliçeri neighborhood of Akçadağ district. According to the allegations, 16-year-old Batuhan Vahap Akbaş lost his balance while watering the concrete parts of the house built by his grandfather O.M. in Maskarlar area and touched the electrical cables at a close distance. During this time, the unfortunate young boy, who was electrocuted, could not be saved despite all the interventions made at Akçadağ Şehit Gökhan Aslan State Hospital. THEY APPLIED TO HAVE THE CABLES REMOVEDAfter the procedures at the hospital and the forensic medicine institution, Batuhan Vahap Akbaş's body was delivered to his family. It is claimed that O.M., Batuhan Vahap Akbaş's grandfather, applied to the relevant institution months ago to have the electrical cables passing right next to their house removed. "HIS GRANDFATHER SUBMITTED A PETITION"Ilhan İnce, the Muhtar of Aliçeri Neighborhood, stated that Batuhan Vahap Akbaş lost his life due to negligence and that the electrical transformer in the area also posed a danger. He said the following: "Unfortunately, we lost a 16-year-old child due to an electric shock. The grandfather submitted a petition to Fırat Electricity Distribution Inc. 6 months ago to have the cables that the child touched removed, but it was not taken into consideration. "THEY DIDN'T REMOVE THE CABLES BECAUSE THERE ARE NO LICENSED HOUSES IN THE AREA"Furthermore, as the Muhtar of the neighborhood, I submitted a petition 2 months ago for the removal of the cables. The response we received from the relevant institution was, 'There are no licensed houses in the area, so we cannot change these cables and poles.' Our child came to visit his grandfather from Bursa, but he lost his life due to the cables that were not removed despite the petition. We also took photos of the transformer in the area and will submit them to the relevant institution at the beginning of next week."
