After the warnings from the meteorology and AKOM, heavy rainfall that started at midnight in Istanbul continues to have an impact. The downpour, which has flooded streets and avenues, has caused numerous accidents. In a chain collision involving 7 vehicles on the Eyüpsultan TEM Highway, 2 people were injured, and traffic on the highway was blocked for a long time. In Çekmeköy, a private public bus lost control on the slippery road while in motion, flipped over, and crashed into the barriers.

CHAIN REACTION ACCIDENT ON TEM
Following the heavy rain on the Eyüpsultan TEM Highway, a chain reaction accident involving 7 vehicles occurred. Two people were injured in the accident, and traffic on the highway was disrupted for a while.
The accident occurred around 02:00 on the Eyüpsultan TEM Highway. As the heavy rain started later in the night, it negatively affected daily life, leading to a collision of 7 vehicles on the TEM Highway. Two people were injured in the accident. Two lanes of the highway were closed to traffic due to the accident. Long vehicle queues formed in the area after the accident. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention by medical teams at the scene. Vehicle passage was controlled for a while due to the accident. The vehicles involved in the accident were removed from the road by a tow truck, and the closed road was reopened to traffic. An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
PUBLIC BUS OVERTURNED
A private public bus in Çekmeköy lost control and crashed into the barriers, then veered onto the side road. It was reported that there were no fatalities or injuries in the accident.
The incident occurred around 05:30 on the side road of the Şile Highway in Çekmeköy Central District, heading towards Ümraniye. According to the information obtained, the private public bus with the license plate 34 HO 2867 lost control due to the slippery road caused by the rain, crashed through the barriers, and overturned onto the side road. No injuries were reported, and police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The side road of the Şile Highway towards Ümraniye was closed to traffic for a while by the teams. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
After the bus was removed from the scene, traffic flow returned to normal.
