Efforts have been initiated to tow the ship named "Virat," which was hit and sustained damage about 35 nautical miles off the coast of the Doğanyurt district of Kastamonu, to the Türkeli Anchorage.
The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs reported that the "Virat" ship is expected to arrive in Türkeli on December 1.
Last night, the oil tanker named "Virat" was hit while off the coast of Doğanyurt in Kastamonu, and it was also attacked this morning by unmanned sea vehicles. The personnel on the foreign-flagged ship had rejected the evacuation request.

In the latest statement from the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, it was announced that work has begun to tow the ship, which has surface damage, to the Türkeli Anchorage Area.
The statement said, "Latest status regarding the Virat ship: The towing operation for the ship with surface damage began today at 17:05, and the ship is expected to arrive in Türkeli on December 1, 2025, at 13:00. The process is being monitored."

Last night, two tanker ships named KAIRO and VIRAT belonging to Russia's "Shadow Fleet" were attacked in the Black Sea.
It was announced that the attack was carried out by a joint operation of the Ukrainian security service and the Ukrainian navy.
