Tayfur, who was hospitalized due to high blood pressure in the past weeks, passed away at the age of 79 in a private hospital in Antalya where he was receiving treatment. The legendary figure of arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, was hospitalized in Muğla after falling ill at his home in Marmaris in mid-December. Upon the request of the doctor from the hospital in Antalya where he had previously undergone a kidney transplant, Tayfur was transferred to this city by air ambulance.

It was reported that the 79-year-old artist had a stent placed in his brain vessel during surgery at a hospital in Antalya 15 days before he fell ill and was discharged. Ferdi Tayfur, who underwent dialysis treatment for a while, had received a kidney transplant from his son in Antalya in 2020.
