Turkey was shaken by the brutality experienced at the Yedikule walls in Fatih. The dismembered female body mannequins in front of the haunted house in Izmir drew reactions as they reminded people of 19-year-old Semih Çelik's murder of İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil. Many users reacted on social media to the images shared. Police and municipal teams who arrived at the controversial haunted house removed the mannequins one by one. AZRAIL KÖŞKÜ HAUNTED HOUSEThe exterior of the establishment named 'Azrail Köşkü Haunted House' located on 1485th Street in the Alsancak district of Izmir featured a bloody head, a bloody body mannequin without a head, a skull, 3 horror mannequins, a bloody child mannequin, and a bloody arm and hand mannequin, which were recorded by a citizen with a mobile phone and shared on social media. In the video, the citizen expressed their outrage, saying, "Children pass by here. How is this allowed? Is there no municipality here? This nonsense cannot be allowed. Can't people pass through this street with their children?" OFFENSIVE DESCRIPTIONS REMOVEDThe video shared on social media drew reactions as it reminded people of the incident where 19-year-old Semih Çelik, who was learned to be a butcher in Fatih, Istanbul, murdered İkbal Uzuner (19) and Ayşenur Halil (19) on October 4. Following complaints, police and municipal teams from Izmir removed the disturbing banners and plastic mannequins from the haunted house. The teams also initiated efforts to remove offensive depictions from the 'Freddy Haunted House' and other haunted houses in the Alsancak district. STATEMENT FROM THE IZMIR GOVERNORATEIn a statement regarding the issue from the Izmir Governorate, it was noted, "In a post made on the X social media platform on October 6, 2024, it was stated that the banner and plastic mannequins hung for advertising purposes by the establishment licensed as a game house (haunted house) in the Alsancak district of Konak caused discomfort.
