Teams from Dicle Electricity, which detected the use of an unregistered transformer in the rural Arıklı neighborhood of Kızıltepe district in Mardin, went to the area to start an investigation. While the teams were working, İ.Ü., who lives in a house near the illegal transformer, approached the company employees and reacted to the inspection. As the angry individual headed towards his house, the team, for precautionary reasons, got into their vehicles and began to move away from the area. At that moment, İ.Ü. came out of his house with a long-barreled weapon and opened fire on the teams. The teams quickly distanced themselves from the area and escaped the incident without injury. ILLEGAL ELECTRICITY USAGE CAPABLE OF SUPPLYING 80 HOUSEHOLDSAccording to information obtained from the company, it was emphasized that the illegal transformer detected in Arıklı neighborhood, where the attack took place, has a capacity of 160 kVA and that a transformer of this capacity can meet the electricity needs of 80 households. ATTACKER ARRESTED IN A SHORT TIMEAfter the incident, Dicle Electricity teams went to the gendarmerie station to file a complaint against the attacker İ.Ü. He was arrested during an operation conducted on the same day along with his unlicensed weapon. It was reported that the attacker would be referred to judicial authorities after his procedures at the gendarmerie.
