The Turkish Statistical Institute published the data for December 2024. According to the announced data, the inflation rate for the end of 2024 has become clear. In December, inflation increased by 1.03% compared to the previous month, while the year-end inflation was recorded at 44.38%. This development has also determined the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees, along with the inflation rate that occurred in the last six months. WHAT IS THE 6-MONTH INFLATION RATE?The six-month inflation rate has been determined as 15.75%. INCREASE RATE FOR RETIREESWorkers and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive an increase based on the 6-month inflation rate. Accordingly, retiree salaries will increase by 15.75% in the first half of 2025. INCREASE RATE FOR CIVIL SERVANTSCivil servants and civil servant retirees received a 10% contractual increase in July. However, the 6-month inflation rate created a difference that exceeds this 10% increase. This difference will be 5.23% in the first half of 2025. Additionally, an extra 6% increase will be made to civil servants as per the collective agreement.
