The hospital bill an British family on holiday in Alanya claimed to have encountered after their child fell ill caused surprise. According to the claim, the family was charged approximately 4,000 pounds after taking their children to the hospital for treatment. Describing the experience, the British tourist said, "I felt like I'd been robbed."
A British family on holiday in Alanya saw their child's illness turn into an unexpected expense. Allegedly, after the children received treatment at the hospital, the family was presented with a bill of nearly £4,000.
The tourist, describing how they felt upon seeing the bill, which exceeded 263,000 lira in Turkish currency, said they felt "as if they had been robbed."
CHILDREN FELL ILL DURING HOLIDAY
The family, who had come to Turkey from England, consulted the doctor at the hotel when their two children fell ill during their holiday in Alanya.
According to the allegations, after the children's condition, the family was referred to the hospital. Following the procedures carried out at the hospital, the family was faced with an unexpected charge.
BILL REACHED £4,000
According to the British tourist's claim, the total bill for the children's treatment reached approximately £4,000. The family, who had come to Turkey for a holiday, was greatly shocked by this amount.
The tourist, describing the financial burden they experienced, said, "I felt like I had been robbed."
QUESTIONED THE RELATIONSHIP IN THE REFERRAL PROCESS
One of the issues the family reacted to was the process of the hotel doctor referring them to the hospital.
The British tourist questioned whether there was any connection between the doctor who sent them to the hospital and the hospital where the treatment was carried out. The family claimed that there were question marks about why and how the referral was made.
RETURN TO ENGLAND WAS ALSO COSTLY
The family's claims were not limited to the hospital bill. The tourist alleged that they had to spend approximately £900 to return to England after the incident.
Thus, the family's holiday budget increased unexpectedly due to hospital and return expenses.
Sharing their experience, the British tourist advised families traveling to Turkey with children to research potential health costs in advance.
