In Istanbul's Bağcılar district, children playing on a vacant lot found a corpse inside a parked vehicle. While the body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after on-site investigations, it was learned that locals had been disturbed by the smell coming from the corpse for some time.
Children playing in an empty lot in Bağcılar encountered a sight they will never forget in their lives.
SWELLEN CORPSE FOUND BEHIND VEHICLE
The incident occurred at noon in an empty lot on Namık Kemal Street in Kemalpaşa District. Children playing in the lot noticed a strong odor coming from a parked panel van and looked inside. Seeing a person lying motionless in the back of the vehicle, the children alerted those nearby. Those who opened the vehicle's trunk saw the motionless person and reported the situation to health and police teams. Health teams arriving at the scene determined that the person in the vehicle was dead and the corpse had swollen. Police teams examining the body found an ID issued in the name of Ferhat Kılıçarslan. While police teams took security measures around the lot, the body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after examinations.
"THE SMELL HAD BEEN INCREASING FOR 10 DAYS"
Adil Benli, who said he was disturbed by the smell spreading to the street, stated, "The smell was coming from inside the vehicle, and the children got curious and looked. The smell had been increasing for 10 days anyway. Police came, and the necessary places were searched. It's someone we know and recognize. He was completely purple and starting to decompose. We called a vacuum truck thinking the smell was coming from below, but the smell was actually coming from the vehicle."
Meanwhile, it is believed that the corpse had been in the vehicle for about a week.
