The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen announced that they targeted Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel with a high-speed ballistic missile named "Palestine 2" and that the attack successfully achieved its objective.
Houthi Military Spokesman Yahya Saree made a statement regarding the ballistic missile attack they carried out on Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel.
"THE ATTACK SUCCESSFULLY REACHED ITS TARGET"
Saree reported that the missile unit of the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted Ben Gurion Airport, located in the occupied Yafa region, with a high-speed ballistic missile of the "Palestine 2" type, claiming that the attack successfully reached its target. He noted that the attack forced millions of Zionist occupiers to flee to shelters and halted air traffic at the airport.
"THE PEOPLE OF YEMEN STAND WITH THE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE"
Emphasizing support for Gaza and Palestine, Saree stated, "In these blessed days, we salute the sincere fighters resisting in Gaza and throughout Palestine. The people of Yemen, along with their leadership and army, stand with the people of Palestine; until these attacks cease and the blockade is lifted."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Israeli army had previously stated that a ballistic missile was launched from Yemen towards Israel and that the air force successfully neutralized this missile. Following the attack, it was announced that sirens were sounded in many cities in central Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Israel's Channel 12 television also reported that the airspace at Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily closed due to the attack.
Due to the increasing attacks on Ben Gurion Airport in recent times, many international airlines have temporarily suspended their flights to Israel.
