Millions of workers in Turkey are eagerly awaiting the rate of the minimum wage increase for 2025. Murat Bal, a Social Security Institution (SGK) expert who appeared on the News.com studio, stated that the minimum wage increase for 2025 should be determined according to inflation and that the new minimum wage should be around 25,000 TL. However, he pointed out that the general expectation is for an increase in the range of 21,000 to 22,000 TL.

Millions of workers in Turkey are eagerly awaiting the rate of increase in the minimum wage for the year 2025. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission is planned to meet in December to determine the minimum wage for 2025. Social Security Expert Murat Bal made predictions regarding the new minimum wage to be set for 2025 in the studio of Haberler.com with host Melis Yaşar.

"THE MINIMUM WAGE SHOULD BE AROUND 25 THOUSAND TL"

Explaining his predictions regarding the minimum wage, Bal stated, "I believe that an increase should be made based on the actual inflation. Because it is the inflation in 2024 that erodes this salary. The inflation rate for the upcoming year 2025 does not affect us, nor is it something that has been achieved for us. The increase should be based on the inflation that occurs here. At the very least, I think negotiations should start from this point. I believe that the minimum wage should be around 25 thousand TL, but it is thought that the minimum wage will be around 21-22 thousand TL," he expressed.
