In the two 15-minute extra time periods, there were no more goals, and the semi-finalist was determined by penalties.

PENALTIES DETERMINED THE SEMI-FINALIST

England defeated Switzerland 5-3 in the penalty shootout, eliminating their opponent and becoming the third team to advance to the semi-finals after Spain and France. Manuel Akanji was the only player to miss a penalty for Switzerland.
