During the holiday break, images of Arab tourists flocking to Uzungöl and dancing by the lake in local attire sparked controversy.

With the warming weather and the long holiday break, an early tourism movement has begun across Turkey. Alongside the trio of sea, sand, and sun, thousands of domestic and foreign tourists seeking to be alone with nature have turned their route to the Black Sea. The Eastern Black Sea plateaus, which are the center of nature tourism with their green forests, cool air, and unique geography, have started hosting the first guests of the season.

ARAB WORLD'S FAVORITE IS AGAIN "UZUNGOL"

The Arab world, whose interest in the region has increased exponentially in recent years, is almost flooding the Eastern Black Sea this season as well. The legendary Uzungol plateau in the Macka district of Trabzon, which has become a symbol of nature tourism in the region, was again the most visited spot. Middle Eastern tourists, eager to see the lake view surrounded by pine forests and enjoy the cool air and clean nature, flooded into hotels in Uzungol and its surroundings.

CONTROVERSIAL FOOTAGE

While the density of foreign tourists in the region made local shopkeepers and tourism professionals happy, images shared from the area sparked widespread debate on social media. Videos and photos showing the intense Arab tourist population in Uzungol brought along various discussions and comments among users regarding the region's tourism structure and demographic mobility.
