Imamoğlu files a lawsuit for damages against Yiğit Bulut.

Imamoğlu files a lawsuit for damages against Yiğit Bulut.

25.10.2024 15:40

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu filed a compensation lawsuit against President's Chief Advisor Yiğit Bulut, who referred to him as a "national security issue." İmamoğlu is seeking 50,000 Turkish Lira in damages from Bulut for these remarks.

President's Chief Advisor Yiğit Bulut made a post on his X account last April, using harsh words against Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

"İMAMOĞLU IS A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE FOR THE TURKISH NATION..."

In his post, Bulut stated, "I will share a sentence with you, take note, we will discuss, we will see. Ekrem İmamoğlu is a national security issue for the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation! I hope our media will manage to fill the content of this thesis when it reaches real analytical capability! Take note," he said.

İMAMOĞLU TOOK THE MATTER TO COURT

Following this controversial post, İmamoğlu took action and, through his lawyer, brought the matter to court on the grounds that his personal rights had been attacked, demanding 50,000 lira in compensation from Bulut.

"WHAT KIND OF INTERNAL INCONSISTENCY IS THIS?"

Yiğit Bulut, who reacted to the lawsuit against him, said, "Dear friends, what kind of internal inconsistency is this! Ekrem Bey, who calls the members of the High Judiciary 'fools' and says, 'this cannot be considered an insult, a lawsuit cannot be filed, it's nonsense,' is now going from courthouse to courthouse, unable to contain his anger over a statement of mine that does not contain any insult!" in response to İmamoğlu's lawsuit against him.
