In an operation centered in Adana and conducted across 8 provinces targeting the organized crime syndicate led by Ramazan Bayğara, who is currently detained in Greece, 287 suspects were taken into custody.

According to information obtained from the Ministry of Interior, a planned operation was initiated on October 31, 2025, targeting the "Bayğaralar" organized crime syndicate, led by Ramazan Bayğara, who is currently detained in Greece. The operation was coordinated by the Adana Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by teams from the Adana Provincial Police Department's Smuggling and Organized Crime Investigation (KOM) Branch Directorate.

In this context, the teams took action to apprehend 299 suspects identified as being involved in crimes including "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "intentional homicide," "attempted intentional homicide," "intentional injury," "drug trafficking," "damage to property," "violation of Law No. 6136," and "intentionally endangering public safety."

In operations conducted at addresses identified in Adana, Izmir, Mersin, Konya, Antalya, Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ, 287 of the suspects, for whom detention orders existed, were taken into custody. Efforts to capture the 12 fugitive suspects are ongoing.

During the searches, 1 hand grenade, 4 AK-47 automatic rifles, 2 automatic pistols, 16 pistols, 2 shotguns, 25 magazines, and 1,128 rounds of ammunition were seized. Additionally, 39,733 narcotic pills, 72.5 grams of marijuana, 45,000 euros, and 33,735 Turkish liras were confiscated.

A seizure measure was applied to 2 businesses and 5 vehicles, assessed as proceeds of crime and with an approximate market value of 50 million liras.

In an assessment provided to the AA correspondent regarding the operation, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, recalling that they declared 2026 as the year of the fight against criminal organizations, stated the following:

"This successful operation carried out is one of the most concrete indicators of our promise and our determination in the field. We are not, and will not, allow any criminal organization that targets the peace of our cities and threatens the safety of our citizens to breathe. I congratulate our Adana Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, our Adana Police Department, and all our heroic security forces who successfully executed this operation."
