A striking image emerged during the moments when public buses headed towards the municipality building to protest the Interior Ministry's decision to appoint a trustee to Batman Municipality. A young girl who boarded the bus to make it to her exam reacted to the driver by saying, "What are you talking about, Kurdistan? You live in Turkey. You're ignorant."

The Ministry of Interior appointed trustees to the municipalities of Batman, Mardin, and Halfeti yesterday morning, following the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt municipality in Istanbul last week.

"WE SAY THERE IS AN EXAM"

The young girl, who stated that she wanted to catch the exam, shouted at the bus driver, "What are you talking about? We say there is an exam. What are you talking about Kurdistan? Do you realize you live in Turkey? You're ignorant. This is not Kurdistan."
