In Diyarbakır, a teacher's Heimlich maneuver saved a student's life.

In DİYARBAKIR, an 8th-grade student, S.Ö., who had food lodged in his trachea, was saved thanks to the Heimlich maneuver performed by Physical Education Teacher Tahsin Yılmaz. Those moments were captured by the school's security camera. The incident occurred around 11:15 at Nuri Zekiye Has Middle School located in the Bağlar district. The 8th-grade student S.Ö. had food stuck in his trachea. Seeing the incident, Physical Education Teacher Tahsin Yılmaz performed the Heimlich maneuver and helped the student breathe again.

THE STUDENT'S CONDITION IS GOOD

It was learned that the student's condition is good, and School Principal Recep Zengin stated that quick and accurate intervention in emergencies can save lives. He mentioned that teachers are regularly directed to first aid training organized by the Ministry of National Education for the safety and health of students. The intervention made by the teacher on his student S.Ö. was also captured by the school's security camera.
