According to a report by the Iran Hemshahri newspaper, hundreds of people in the provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan, Hamadan, and Zanjan have been poisoned due to the consumption of counterfeit alcohol in the last two weeks. Among those hospitalized due to severe poisoning from methanol in these four provinces, 48 have died, and some have completely lost their vision. PERSONS PRODUCING AND SELLING FAKE ALCOHOL HAVE BEEN ARRESTEDAccordingly, 21 people died from poisoning in Mazandaran, 15 in Gilan, 11 in Hamadan, and 1 in Zanjan. It was reported that individuals producing and selling counterfeit alcohol have been identified and arrested.
