A child in Malatya, who had chocolate lodged in his airway while on a municipal bus, was saved by the driver using the Heimlich maneuver.

On the municipal bus operating on the Elemendik Container City line, a 2-year-old child traveling in his mother's lap had chocolate lodged in his airway. Noticing the situation, driver Mustafa Baştuğ saved the child by performing the Heimlich maneuver after taking him from his mother's lap.

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er congratulated our valuable colleague, driver Mustafa Baştuğ, who saved our 2-year-old child who could not breathe due to chocolate lodged in his throat and faced a serious life-threatening situation, in a post on his X social media account. He stated, "This incident once again highlighted the importance of first aid training. As a society, we must be aware of this issue."
