In the second hearing of the trial of Furkan Samet Bakalım (17), who stabbed and killed high school teacher Fatma Nur Çelik and wounded six people in Çekmeköy, witnesses will be heard.
At Borsa Istanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, student Furkan Samet Bakalım (17) injured his teachers Fatma Nur Çelik (44) and Zeynep Aybars (52), along with 6 students, with a knife. The injured were taken to the hospital, but teacher Çelik could not be saved despite all interventions. The perpetrator Furkan Samet Balım was taken into custody at the scene and later arrested by the Duty Judge of Peace and sent to prison.
REQUEST FOR UP TO 126 YEARS IN PRISON
In the indictment prepared after the completed investigation, it is demanded that defendant Furkan Samet Bakalım be sentenced to up to 126 years in prison for the crime of 'murdering a woman with monstrous intent due to her public duty' and for his actions against the 6 injured individuals, for the crimes of 'attempted murder of a child with monstrous intent' and 'attempted murder of a person with monstrous intent due to their public duty'.
WITNESSES WILL BE HEARD
The first hearing of the case, which is planned to be heard at the 2nd Child Heavy Penal Court, was moved to the larger courtroom of the 19th Heavy Penal Court due to the physical inadequacy of the hall. Witnesses will be heard during the 2nd hearing of the case, which will be held today.
