In the accident that occurred in Silifke district of Mersin, 2 people died and 35 people were injured when the bus carrying Akkuyu NGS workers crossed the opposite lane and collided with another bus carrying workers and a car with sergeants. It was learned that one of the deceased was a sergeant and the other was a Russian citizen.

In the accident that occurred on Mersin-Antalya D-400 highway within the borders of Işıklı Neighborhood in Silifke District, the bus with license plate number 06 EEP 718, driven by İ.K. (65) and carrying Akkuyu NGS workers, crossed the opposite lane while traveling towards Mersin. The bus that crossed the opposite lane collided with the car with license plate number 27 R 2950 driven by Sergeant Y.D. who also works at Akkuyu NGS and the bus with license plate number 31 AIM 470 driven by H.Y., where the workers were.

2 PEOPLE DIED, 35 INJURED

In the accident, the sergeant in the car and Ismaılova Ncmannoba, who is of Russian origin and was in the bus, died, while 35 people were injured. Health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were transported to the district state hospital and private hospitals in Silifke by ambulances sent to the scene.

The road was closed to traffic for a long time due to the accident.
