Within the scope of the bribery investigation against the Seferihisar Municipality in Izmir, A.D., the driver of the arrested Mayor Ismail Yetiskin, and Mustafa Kublay, the driver of the arrested Deputy Mayor G.P., were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. Mustafa Kublay was arrested, while A.D. was released under house arrest.
In the bribery investigation launched against Seferihisar Municipality in Izmir, Ismail Yetiskin, who was detained and arrested and then suspended from his post as Mayor, and the drivers of Deputy Mayor G.P., A.D. and Mustafa Kublay, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. Among the suspects, Mustafa Kublay was arrested, while A.D. was placed under house arrest.
25 SUSPECTS, INCLUDING MAYORS, DETAINED
In the bribery investigation targeting Seferihisar Municipality, 25 suspects, including Seferihisar Mayor Ismail Yetiskin, Balcova Mayor Onur Yigit, and Seferihisar deputy mayors G.P., N.H., and I.K., were detained on June 25.
ONE MAYOR ARRESTED, THE OTHER REINSTATED
Twelve people, including Yetiskin, were arrested. Ismail Yetiskin was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior. Onur Yigit, the Mayor of Balcova, who was placed under house arrest and suspended from duty, was later reinstated.
DRIVER OF DEPUTY MAYOR ARRESTED
While the investigation continued, on August 28, Yetiskin's driver A.D. and the driver of the arrested Deputy Mayor G.P., Mustafa Kublay, were detained by police teams. After their procedures at the police station were completed, the two suspects were referred to the courthouse yesterday.
Among the suspects, A.D. was released under judicial control with house arrest. Mustafa Kublay was arrested by the Duty Criminal Court of Peace.
