In the case regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, where 4 detained defendants are being tried with a request for aggravated life imprisonment, the "family members' meeting footage" was examined by the National Criminal Bureau, and an expert report was prepared and submitted to the court. In the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district, Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, is being tried along with her detained mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar for the crime of "intentional murder of a child in participation" with a request for aggravated life imprisonment. SENT TO COURTThe footage related to the family meeting, which took place one day before Narin's lifeless body was found on September 8, was examined by the panel of the 8th Heavy Criminal Court, where the defendants are being tried. The court sent the footage, which includes conversations in Turkish and Kurdish, to the National Criminal Bureau for expert transcription. The expert report prepared after the examination of the footage by the National Criminal Bureau was sent to the Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Criminal Court. WHAT HAPPENED?The recorded footage of a meeting held in the garden of uncle Erhan Güran's house in the Tavşantepe neighborhood, attended by some family members, was sent to the Diyarbakır Bar Association one day before Narin's lifeless body was found on September 8. The "family members' meeting footage," recorded by a security camera between 19:38-19:41, was submitted to the Diyarbakır 8th Heavy Criminal Court by the Bar Association. The footage watched by the court panel was added to the case file. The court had previously decided to send the footage containing conversations in Turkish and Kurdish to the Criminal Branch Directorate of the Van Gendarmerie Command for expert transcription. In the court's decision, which also sent the footage containing conversations in Turkish and Kurdish to the National Criminal Bureau for expert transcription, the following statements were included: "In the evaluation of the video footage obtained in our court's case numbered 2024/396, it was reported that Kurdish was spoken in the video, the sound was very low, and in the meeting held with Kurdish experts in Diyarbakır, it was stated that separate sound equipment was needed to translate it into Turkish, and due to the low sound level, it was not possible to translate it into Turkish in this state. Following this, discussions were held with the National Criminal Bureau, which is specialized in the field. It was indicated that the conversations could be translated into Turkish using sound equipment, and due to the proximity of the hearing, the video footage was sent to the National Criminal Bureau."
