In the second wave operation of the investigation into 'bribery' and 'extortion' crimes related to the tenure of suspended Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, 6 detained suspects were referred to the courthouse. Among the suspects brought before the duty magistrate, 2 were arrested, while 4 were released under judicial control. Eventful hours unfolded in the investigation into \"bribery and extortion\" conducted against the Beykoz Municipality in Istanbul. In the second wave of the operation related to the term of former Mayor Alaattin Köseler, who was suspended from duty, 2 of the 6 suspects detained were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
6 SUSPECTS REFERRED TO COURT, 2 PERSONS ARRESTED
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the procedures of the 6 suspects taken into custody at the police station were completed. Two of the suspects, who were referred to the court and whose statements were taken by the prosecutor's office, were arrested by the magistrate court. The court decided to release the remaining 4 suspects under judicial control. Additionally, arrest warrants were issued for 2 fugitive suspects who could not be found at their addresses during the operation.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched a comprehensive investigation based on the claim that \"bribery\" and \"extortion\" crimes were committed during the term of former Mayor Alaattin Köseler, who was suspended from duty. In line with the evidence in the investigation file, the statements of the complainants, and the confessions of suspects benefiting from the effective remorse law, the accomplices were identified one by one.
A detention decision was made for 8 suspects, including businessmen, a Beykoz Municipality council member, and former municipal employees, and during a dawn operation, 6 of the suspects were apprehended by police teams.
